Ode to Joy (2005)

A film triptych about the fates and fortunes of young Poles emigrating to England. Pears, a rapper, finally achieves a long-awaited success, but his social circle doesn’t treat his passions and life choices seriously. Pears cannot accept this. Aga leaves England and returns to a small Polish town. Her father, an ex-miner, hates everything and everyone. Aga, dying for a change, cannot bear the stagnation of the world she is living in. Finally, Wiktor, a university graduate, needs to suppress his ambitions and earn a living – he works in a fish processing plant. They all decide to look for happiness abroad.
